Report on First Workshop in Geometry, Number Theory, Algorithms and Applications in Cryptography (GNTAAC)

The first workshop in the joint project Geometry, Number Theory, Algorithms and Applications in Cryptography (GNTAAC) took place from Thursday, February 20 until Friday, Februar 21 2025 at the University of Groningen.
The programme consisted of 13 talks of 20 to 30 minutes each, held by Postdocs, PhD students and Master students. In between each block of two talks there were coffee breaks which enabled personal discussions on the subject or made general exchange possible. There were in total 31 participants, 21 from the University of Groningen, 8 from the University of Oldenburg and 2 students affiliated with both the University of Groningen and the cryptography division of Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO).
Among the interactions was an exchange on algebraic geometry codes, which will lead to the participation of one student from Oldenburg in a seminar in Groningen, discussions about the arithmetic of S-integers and their function field counterparts (with the possibility of future joint projects) as well as discussions about isogeny-based cryptography.
