Is it necessary to have completed vocational training before starting your studies?

Vocational training prior to starting your studies is not required. However, by the time you register your Master’s thesis, you must provide evidence of vocational training in a commercial or administrative field or, alternatively, 52 weeks of commercial or administrative work experience (work placements). How are the degree programmes structured?

Which teaching subjects are available for selection?

In addition to your first subject, Economics, you can choose one of the following teaching subjects: English, Chemistry, Protestant Theology/Religious Education, German, History, Computing Science, Mathematics, Dutch, Philosophy/Values and Norms, Physics, Special Educational Needs, Social Sciences and Sports Science; in co-operation with the University of Bremen, French and Spanish are also available.

Is a school placement included?

Yes. In the Bachelor’s programme, the 5-week teaching placement at a vocational school takes place in February/March. In the Master’s programme, the 5-week teaching placement at a vocational school takes place in August/September.

Are study periods abroad possible or required?
