Financing and investment in innovation management

Making informed decisions

The module provides you with basic knowledge of financial valuation and corporate financing. It deals with the time value of money, time-variable interest rates, the yield curve and inflation as well as determining the effective interest rate. Risk and portfolio planning, financial planning, financing methods, financial analysis and project financing are also covered.

The practical module focuses on the valuation of financing instruments. You will apply financial theory to specific application problems that decision-makers in companies typically face. Key aspects of the financial decision-making process are dealt with in depth using numerical examples and sample tasks. These include the cost of capital, financing aspects and the evaluation of projects under uncertainty.
