The Sports Management module prepares you for a management position in sports organisations. You will learn about the special features of managing events, communication, sports facilities and personnel. Using the example of clubs and associations, agencies and other organisations, you will develop solutions for sport business challenges.

explain and critically reflect on the special features of sports management based on general knowledge of the sports industry and the economic problems of sports organisations of all kinds;

differentiate between general business management tools and methods and special applications of sports management and develop customised problem-solving strategies;

understand modern sports development, such as the conditions of public sports funding, demand-orientated sports development planning, strategic management and sports governance in more detail;

apply subject-specific interpretation and discourse skills (persuasiveness, argumentation skills);

plan and design cooperative work and discussion processes as well as the development of customised problem-solving strategies (e.g. strategic controlling of a top-class sports association, controlling of a team sports provider, market communication of a commercial sports organisation, etc.).

You can take the module as certified further education or as part of the part-time Bachelor's degree programme in Business Administration. It concludes with a Certificate of Advanced Studies.
