Two sample heads are available for this NMR spectrometer. The BBI sample head is permanently installed.

Sample head BBI: PA BBI 500S2 H-BB-D-05 Z
With Z-gradient

Inverse sample head: ¹H coil inside - X coil outside - Hetero cores are not as sensitive,
but are favourable for ¹H and ¹H detected 2D spectra, therefore
¹H_X-HMQC and -HMBC are more sensitive than on the BBO sample head.

BBO sample head: PA BBO 500S2 BBF-H-D-05 Z
With Z-gradient

Unfortunately, the 2D experiments no longer work with this sample head. Due to its age, it cannot be repaired.

Sample head: ¹H coil outside - XF coil inside → Hetero nuclei are more sensitive than on the BBI sample head.
With ¹H/¹⁹F switchbox

Temperature experiments are possible for both sample heads from -150°C to +150°C. Care must be taken to select a suitable solvent.
