Safety-Security-Interaction

Welcome to the Safety-Security-Interaction Group!

The Safety-Security-Interaction group is concerned with the development of theoretically sound technologies for maintaining the security of IT systems in the context of safety-critical systems and the Internet of Things. The main emphasis lies on developing security solutions tailored to the context-specific conditions in safety-critical systems, thereby giving special importance to studying the interaction between the security and the safety of the systems to be protected.

Our new backward private dynamic searchable symmetric encryption scheme Libertas, which supports wildcard search, got accepted at DBSec 2022!

Our paper „Libertas: Backward Private Dynamic Searchable Symmetric Encryption Supporting Wildcards” got accepted for publication at DBSec 2022! In the paper, we propose our new encryption scheme Libertas which allows for secure search on encrypted dynamic databases. The novelty lies in the fact that Libertas supports wildcard search queries and meets, at the same time, the so-called „forward and backward privacy” notion, which increases security against file-injection attacks.
