Safety-Security-Interaction

Welcome to the Safety-Security-Interaction Group!

The Safety-Security-Interaction group is concerned with the development of theoretically sound technologies for maintaining the security of IT systems in the context of safety-critical systems and the Internet of Things. The main emphasis lies on developing security solutions tailored to the context-specific conditions in safety-critical systems, thereby giving special importance to studying the interaction between the security and the safety of the systems to be protected.

Article in the IET Biometrics Journal!

Our article on the protection of biometric data in biometric authentication systems got accepted for publication in the IET Biometrics Journal!

Our paper „Hybrid Biometric Template Protection: Resolving the Agony of Choice between Bloom Filters and Homomorphic Encryption” got accepted for publication in the IET Biometrics Journal! In the paper, we provide a comparison between Bloom Filter based approaches to protect biometric data in biometric authentication systems with approaches based on homomorphic encryption. This comparison leads us to the proposal of a combined approach that incorporates the benefits of both approaches.
