Diverse further education and career development programme
University Medicine Oldenburg offers a wide range of further education and career development programmes for various target groups to support them in their academic appointments. The extensive and free further education and training programme PE.OE (Personnel Development and Organisational Development) of the University of Oldenburg is available to employees at any time, covering the topics of communication, IT, languages, health and management development. Further target group-specific programmes can be found below:
Scientists
On the one hand, the Graduate Academy offers researchers support in their academic career development. Scientists at all career levels are addressed with the help of a qualification concept. Whether doctoral candidates, postdocs, habilitation candidates or junior professors - there is something for everyone! The OLTECH Graduate School also offers a structured doctoral programme for all doctoral candidates from Faculties II, V and VI.
On the other hand, School VI itself also offers further academic career development programmes:
- for postdocs: (Junior) Clinician/Medical Scientist Programme
- for doctoral students: Dr. med. doctoral promotion programme
- for doctoral candidates with an interest in international co-operation: Joint MD/PhD
Employees in technology and administration
There is a wide range of further training courses for university employees in our PE.OE further education and training programme. In addition to subject and topic-specific topics, the following further training opportunities are also offered:
- Certificate programme "Modern office management"
- Part-time administration courses I and II
Managers
We offer training programmes for managers in science and administration in a wide range of subject areas, including
- Subject and management development programmes on a regular basis (modules: Communication, leadership, change management, legal foundations for managers, project and process management and personnel selection procedures)
- Regular supervision/supervised peer counselling, e.g. through peer groups
- Special training programmes (e.g. "Leadership in the afternoon")

At the request of employees, it is also possible to create "new" training programmes. Employees are welcome to contact our Personnel and Organisational Development department ( PE.OE for short) if they have any requests or suggestions.
