Some people move here from another city/region or even another country and have to establish a new environment not only at work but also in their private lives. Here, too, University Medicine Oldenburg would like to help new arrivals and support them in their integration into the most beautiful city in north-west Germany.

In addition to work, the university offers leisure activities that can be enjoyed together with colleagues and/or alone:

• Intercultural meeting place in the SSC

• University cinema Gegenlicht

Mention should also be made of university sports, which, in addition to improving health, naturally also facilitates social integration and allows new contacts to be made.

At the same time, we also organise annual events that create the feeling of a large "class reunion", such as the International Summer Festival.

The International Office in particular offers various events for international employees. In addition to a monthly excursion, the International Office usually organises a regulars' table on the first Wednesday of every month, which takes place in different locations in Oldenburg. Further events can be found here. If you would like to improve your language skills and get to know new cultures, the language café is the right place for you. Every second Monday at lunchtime, people meet over coffee, tea and cake.
