What is our common understanding of the project objectives? What are the details of the work packages? What are the responsibilities and what does the timetable look like? These core questions were discussed by representatives from all five participating universities at the University of Oldenburg on 5 and 6 December during the kick-off meeting of the 'Posters in Brussels' project. 

Everyone really enjoyed seeing each other again or getting to know each other personally. The event provided plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas. The input by Lindsay Currie, Executive Officer of the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR), USA, was particularly valuable. She shared her first-hand experience of planning and organizing a poster session that brings students and policymakers together. Posters on the Hill (now STR program) is one of the role models for our project. Lindsay's presentation gave us exciting insights and inspiration for our own events in the national parliaments of Austria, Germany, Ireland, Lithuania and Luxembourg.

All participants were enthusiastic about the pleasant work atmosphere. In the end everybody agreed: 'The event lays the foundation for successful collaboration in the project'.
