The workshop services see themselves as a service facility for the entire ICBM and support the research work of the Institute and its project partners. Our central tasks are

• Technical advice, planning and design as well as support in the procurement of materials for the construction, maintenance and repair of scientific equipment for marine research
• Organisation and supervision in the mechanical workshop and warehouse
• Safety officer for workshop, research vessels and research platforms
• Technical support for scientific excursions/sampling
• Supervision of ICBM service boats in operational planning, equipment, repair and maintenance of boats, rescue equipment, safety inspections See BG and operating cost accounting
• Looking after the ICBM's service vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, carrying out familiarisation trips and maintenance work

Our range of tasks includes contract work, the long-term support of central infrastructures and their emergency management. This sometimes results in the prioritisation of tasks, which we discuss with the users. We rely on the cooperation and support of the users to realise the tasks.
