Curriculum
Programme structure and curriculum for the BSc in Business Information Systems
The degree programme is divided into modules, which are assessed at the end of each semester.
- In the first year of study, you will be taught the basics, learn how to programme and deal with the formal and mathematical foundations of Computing Science and the principles of business and business informatics in general.
- From the second year onwards, you can customise your studies by taking elective modules from Business Computing Science, Economics and Practical and Applied Computing Science.
- Practical professional content is taught to you in the area of specialisation in group projects and special modules such as "Soft Skills" and "Computing Science and Society".

Elective area Economics
Modules can be selected from various areas in the degree programme. The modules that can be selected in coordination with the other teaching areas are listed in the examination regulations. These are currently available for the specialisation in Economics:

Die farblichen Hintergründe haben die folgende Bedeutung:
| Basismodul (BM) | Basismodule dienen der Vermittlung von Grundwissen. Sie müssen von allen Studierenden des Studiengangs gehört werden. |
| Aufbaumodul (AM) | Aufbaumodule vermitteln ebenfalls wichtige Grundlagen des Faches oder der Mathematik und gehören daher zum Pflichtbereich des Studiums. Sie bauen teilweise auf dem Vorwissen aus den Basismodulen auf. |
| Akzentsetzungsmodul | Durch die Akzentsetzungsmodule (AS) können Sie Ihrem Studium eine individuelle Ausrichtung geben. Sie können (Im Fachbachelor Informatik) zum Studium von Vertiefungsrichtungen genutzt werden, können aber auch aus dem Katalog der Akzentsetzungsmodule des Studiengangs frei zusammengestellt werden. |
Professionalisierung
| Professionalisierungsmodule stellen den Erwerb berufsbezogener, praktischer Kenntnisse und Fertigkeiten in den Vordergrund. Hierzu gehören einerseits Praxismodule als Pflichtmodule sowie auf den Studiengang abgestimmte und daher dringend empfohlene Module (PB215, PB 216, PB 85, PB 86). Andererseits haben Sie auch die Möglichkeit Module aus dem Gesamtangebot des Professionalisierungsbereiches zu wählen, wobei auf Antrag auch Fachmodule (aus der Informatik oder aus einem anderen, zulassungsfreien Fach) gewählt werden dürfen. |
Praxismodule | |
| Bachelorabschlussmodul | Im Bachelorabschlussmodul schreiben Sie Ihre Bachelorarbeit. Dabei werden Sie von einem Lehrenden in einem begleitenden Seminar individuell betreut und tragen schließlich in einem Abschlusskolloquium Ihre Ergebnisse vor. |
