Explanatory notes on the user regulations
- The Department of Computing Science, Computer and Network Operations Computer Science, provides its users with various general information services, e.g. a number of news groups (other names: notice boards, bulletin boards) and the World Wide Web.
- These services are intended to support the procurement of information and the rapid exchange of information within the scope of the university's tasks. These tasks in research, teaching and studies and in general cultural and social matters are defined in the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act and in the university charter.
- Use of the services for purposes other than those specified in paragraph 2 is not permitted. In particular, use for receiving, storing and sending messages with content that constitutes a criminal offence, violates data protection law or copyright for intellectual property, as well as commercial use is an abuse of university facilities that will be punished in accordance with usage and higher-ranking law.
- The services are obtained and provided within the scope of the Department's possibilities. A user has no legal claim to the provision of specific content or content areas desired by him or her.
- There is no mark on individual messages.
- The use of the services within the framework of the ARBI user regulations is free of charge.
