Jan Pohle

With more than twenty years of professional experience, Jan Pohle is one of the leading legal advisors in the technology and data protection law segment in the German market. He advises national and international companies on complex, technology-related projects, on legal issues relating to digitalisation, on data protection issues and on legal issues relating to cyber security.
He specialises in particular in supporting strategic digitalisation projects, the design and support of complex (procurement) information technology projects, in particular the outsourcing of IT services and business processes.
Jan Pohle also advises on projects at the end of projects in the area of data protection compliance as well as on data protection law issues on an ongoing basis. Finally, he specialises in the legal management of (potential) cyberattacks.
Jan Pohle is a lecturer at the University of Oldenburg in the postgraduate information law programme. He is also co-editor of the standard work Computerrechtshandbuch (formerly Kilian/Heussen) and author of the standard commentary by Taeger/Gabel on GDPR and BDSG.
