Prof Dr Michael Denga, LL.M.
About the person / career
Prof. Dr Michael Denga has been teaching on the Information Law degree programme since 2022 and has experience in various areas of law, particularly IT and commercial law. After passing his first State Examination in Berlin in 2012, he completed master’s programmes at the Université Paris II and King’s College London.
He completed his PhD in 2014 under the supervision of Prof. Dr Artur-Axel Wandtke, specialising in collective copyright law. This was followed in 2016 by his second State Examination, after which he worked for two years as a solicitor at the law firm Hengeler Mueller.
From 2018 to 2022, he was a research assistant at the Chair of Civil Law and German, European and International Private and Commercial Law under Prof. Dr Dr Stefan Grundmann.
With his habilitation in 2022, he qualified to teach the subjects Civil Law, Commercial Law, Intellectual Property Law, IT Law and European Private and Commercial Law.
From 2022 to 2025, he held a visiting chair in Civil and Commercial Law at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. From the summer semester of 2025 until the winter semester of 2025/2026, Michael Denga held a chair in Civil Law and Commercial Law at the BSP Business & Law School Berlin. He was a fellow at the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society and at the European New School of Digital Studies.
Since the summer semester of 2026, Michael Denga has held the chair for Civil Law, Commercial Law and Company Law at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.
