To get you in the mood, a (philosophical) cinema as part of the annual student body cinema series'Philosophy and Film' at Oldenburg's cine k, with the film: The Man Without a Pastt by Aki Kaurismäki.
Friday, 16.01.2015, 20.00:
On the second evening, we can gather from 7.30pm at Polyester, a club and cultural venue in Oldenburg city centre. A philosophical reading will take place here, in which participants of the congress, but also people from the neighbourhood, can present their thoughts on philosophy and, if possible, especially on our topic 'Critique and Reconciliation' in a creative way. If you would like to actively participate, please contact us by the end of December at with a few lines about your ideas.
If you would like to party afterwards, you can get to know Polyester as a club from 11 pm.
In the Karl Jaspers House
Sunday, 18 January 2015, in the morning:
At the Karl Jaspers House there will be a discussion on our topic in relation to Karl Jaspers. We will discuss his text'The Question of Guilt', published in 1946. The seminar-style discussion will be led by Prof. Dr Martin Vialon, head of the Erich Auerbach Archive at the Institute of Philosophy.
Due to the very limited space available, not all visitors attending the actual congress will be able to take part in this closing event. We therefore ask interested parties to register at
