Presentation of the study programme concept
Unique cooperative study programme in Germany
The Master's degree course in Management Consulting is designed to respond to the need for professionalisation in the consulting sector. This degree programme qualifies students for consulting activities in and for organisations (e.g. external management consulting, in-house consulting, meta-consulting, etc.). Through the close integration of consulting science and consulting practice (e.g. real case studies) and modern teaching/learning architectures, basic consulting skills are taught as well as reflective knowledge about the possibilities and limits of intervention.
The co-operation between the University of Oldenburg and Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences is an innovative approach that takes into account the requirements of the industry and students for a balanced relationship between theoretical and practical elements.
The concept of the degree programme is also unique, imparting theoretical and practical knowledge in equal measure. For example, students can apply the theoretical knowledge they have acquired during their studies in concrete projects with companies. In order to create the ideal conditions for this, the number of students accepted each winter semester is limited to 25. This means for the students: Small group concepts with effective teaching and learning architectures and a permanent exchange with lecturers. Upon successful completion of the programme, the two universities award the title "Master of Arts" (M.A. for short) in the Management Consulting degree programme.
