| OER materials can be searched for using the search bar, with filters helping to display only videos, for example. Clicking on an entry in the hit list displays the metadata and various buttons can be used to download the OER, add it to a course or, if necessary, open the website of the material. |
OER can be found on individual websites, in subject-specific repositories, regional or institutional repositories, explicit OER repositories and generally everywhere on the internet. Only what is labelled as OER for search engines can be found - which can sometimes make the search somewhat difficult.

OER Info provides a collection of OER directories and services, including search services, collections of materials for subjects and educational areas as well as train-the-trainer materials and services that bundle and disseminate OER activities.
This portal also covers a wide range of topics relating to OER, from "What is OER" and "OER knowledge" to "How To" guides, a blog and an OER calendar with current events.
OERSI is a search engine for free educational materials in higher education and is a project of the North Rhine-Westphalia University Library Centre (hbz) and the German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB)

Openverse.orgThisEnglish-language site can beusedto find openly licenced and public domain works (especially images, audio and video). The specific licence conditions should be checked briefly for each item found.

Wikimedia Commons is a collection of many freely usable media files.
WirLernenOnline is a search engine for OER materials in the school sector.

Common search services or providers such as Google, Bing, Yandex or Flickr, Freesound or YouTube also offer the opportunity to search for materials under a free licence.
