Register for courses and workshops via Stud.IP. Please always use the same account.

Prevention / Cancellation: If you are prevented from attending a workshop, please cancel your registration by email, as it is technically not possible to unsubscribe on your own. This is the only way to enable people on the waiting list to move up.

  • Promovieren – ja oder nein? Workshop zur Entscheidungsfindung für Studierende und Absolvent*innen der Fakultäten V/VI - 11 June 2026 (09:00 - 13:00) - waiting list only!

    For Master's students nearing the end of their degree who are considering starting a doctorate immediately afterwards.
    Graduates who have already been offered the opportunity to pursue a doctorate but are still undecided as to whether to accept it or not.

  • Science Slam - 17 June 2026 (19:00)

    Registration via Stud.IP now open! Although admission to the Science Slam event is free, advance registration is required to secure a seat due to limited capacity in the auditorium (A11).

  • Coastal Ecology Workshop (CEW) 2026 - 09 – 13 November 2026 - Schillig, Germany

    The Coastal Ecology Workshop is Europe’s premier conference for early-career researchers focusing on saltmarsh ecosystems, alongside an increasingly diverse range of coastal topics. Scholarships, proposals, announcements

Scholarships for international doctoral researchers

We are once again accepting scholarships applications for the winter semester 2026. The application deadline is June 30, 2026Scholarship holders must still be enrolled during the payment period. If you apply for a Jakob Mann graduation scholarship, you must be registered in Oldenburg or the surrounding area.

You can apply for the following scholarships:

  • Graduation scholarships (supplied by STIBET and Jakob Mann Foundation) to successfully complete your final thesis and your studies within one year 
  • STIBET scholarships for the promotion of equal opportunities for students who are at least in their third semester of study and who deal with special challenges in their studies (e.g. people with disabilities or chronic illnesses, people with special care situations for children and people in need of care). Please note: Origin from a specific region is not sufficient evidence of psychological distress; a medical certificate must always be submitted as well.The scholarships can cover up to EUR 500 per month for 3-4 months of funding. 
  • Jakob Mann scholarship for exceptionally gifted international students and doctoral candidates (full scholarship) - The Jakob Mann Foundation awards a scholarship of up to €1,000 per month to one individual for a maximum duration of 12 months. Exceptional giftedness may be evidenced by academic performance, but it may also manifest in other areas (e.g., music, the arts).
  • Oscar Romero scholarship - The Oscar Romero Foundation awards a one-time scholarship of up to €1,000 to one individual who has, through no fault of their own, fallen into an unforeseeable emergency situation.
