Organisation and scope of the FPR-M
-
The FPR-M is research-oriented. Students should acquire the ability to design, carry out, analyse, record and present sophisticated physical experiments and deepen their experience with modern measurement and evaluation methods in experimental physics.
-
The FPR-M has a scope of 9 CP. Of these, 2 CP are allocated to an accompanying seminar (see below) and 7 CP to 4 experiments, each comprising 3 experimental days of 8 hours each (Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., for some experiments alternative dates are arranged for organisational reasons). The grades of the experiments are included in the final grade of the module with a combined weighting of 7/9.
-
If an experiment is carried out as part of the "Psychophysics, Neurosensorics and Auditory Signal Processing" block practical course, the block practical course can be combined with a 3 CP course from the specialisation module I or II in order to take account of the increased workload.
-
Currently only the block practical course: "Psychophysics, Neurosensory Science and Auditory Signal Processing" is offered (in February / March).
-
Accompanying the FPR-M, a seminar is held in which knowledge and skills for presenting the basics, implementation and results of physical experiments using multimedia tools are deepened.
-
The seminar is worth 2 CP. Regular participation in the seminar is compulsory; each participant must give a seminar presentation. The seminar grade is included in the final grade of the module with a weighting of 2/9.
-
The assignment of experiments and presentations takes place on the first date of the FPR-M seminar.
-
An overall grade is awarded for the FPR-M module, which is calculated as the weighted average of the individual grades of the 4 attempts and the seminar grade. The criteria for marking are here can be found here.
-
The following applies to the discontinued Diplom degree programme: One attempt in the FPR-M corresponds to one attempt in the FPR of the Diplom degree programme.
