As the world’s leading conference for research in the field of computer algebra, it provides a platform for discussion on innovative algorithms, software designs and new areas of application.

  • Technical presentations & tutorials: Contributions from leading international experts.
  • Software demonstrations: Insights into current developments and performance optimisations.
  • Wide range of topics: From exact linear algebra and computer-assisted group theory to applications in complex system simulation.

Event dates: 13–17 July 2026.
Venue: University of Oldenburg in Oldenburg, Germany.

Further information and registration: Detailed information on the programme, the committees and registration can be found on the website https://www.issac-conference.org/2026/ of the ISSAC Steering Group.

Space-time and Geometry – A joint venture between physics and mathematics. Theories of gravitation in Finsler and Cartan geometry

24 June 2026–26 June 2026

This is the kick-off workshop for an interdisciplinary co-operation lasting approximately one year between the research groups on Gravitational Physics in Bremen and Geometric Analysis and Mathematical Physics in Oldenburg, in the context of modern spacetime geometries, in particular Finsler and Cartan geometries. The aim is to develop a joint research focus at the interface between mathematics and theoretical physics, and to prepare a coordinated application for external funding (e.g. DFG project funding, a Research Training Group or a Research Group) involving both universities.

The workshop will be followed by a regular research seminar and, finally, a concluding workshop in Bremen.

Official organisers:

Eva Hackmann (Bremen) and Boris Vertman (Oldenburg).

Further organisers:

Manuel Hohmann (Tartu/Oldenburg), Christian Pfeifer (Bremen)

Groningen-Oldenburg Workshop: Geometry, Number Theory, Algorithms and Applications in Cryptography

University of Oldenburg, March 5-6, 2026

This is a joint, local workshop of groups at the universities of Groningen and Oldenburg.

Organisers: Florian Hess (University of Oldenburg), Jan Steffen Müller (University of Groningen)
