The project is continuously supported by academic research. This research provides insights into where targeted interventions can be made in practice. At the same time, the approaches tested in practice are scientifically evaluated, so that lessons learnt during the project progression are directly incorporated into the further development of the project and the support services.

This close integration of research and practice creates a reciprocal process: research findings support practical implementation, whilst practical experience broadens scientific understanding. In this way, needs-based, well-founded and sustainable structures can be developed.
