The easy availability of generative AI such as the corresponding chatbots and similar tools have a massive impact on examinations, among other things. This triggers a wide range of questions, from the adaptation of standard examination formats to changes in teaching. Answering these questions touches on fundamental questions about the autonomy of examinations and also leads to a reassessment of teaching content and examination procedures.
All of this takes time, but examinations cannot simply be suspended for so long. What is currently to be considered here and how can teachers react to the situation?
The examinations working group is currently working on a statement on dealing with examinations in times of AI, which is intended to provide guidance on how to deal with the current challenges and lead a discourse at universities on the relevant topics.
