The research group TeQNO deals with the light-matter interaction in plasmonic nanosystems. Our focus is on the investigation of the properties of thermally and quantum mechanically fluctuating electromagnetic fields on the nanometer scale using the semiclassical theory of fluctuating electrodynamics as well as methods of quantum optics and macroscopic quantum electrodynamics. Our research focuses on the coherence properties of near-field thermal radiation, near-field heat transport, Casimir forces, energy and heat transfer in quantum systems, entanglement, etc.
