At the Faculty II - Computer Science, Economics and Law - of the University of Oldenburg, in the Department of Computer Science in the research group Formal Methods (Prof. Dr. Heike Wehrheim) there is a position as a

Research Assistant (m/f/d)
Salary grade 13 TV-L (100%)

starting 1st of September 2024, or later, for an initially limited period of 3 years. The opportunity for personal qualification (doctoral studies) will be given. The position is suitable for part-time work.

The Formal Methods research group develops formal, mathematically based techniques for the specification and verification of software systems. The successful candidate for this position will be expected to carry out research in the area of Concurrency Theory, specifically verification of concurrent programs and data structures (e.g., studying program logics, weak memory models, or refinement techniques).

Applicants must have successfully completed an academic university degree (Master/Diploma (Uni)) in Computer Science, Mathematics or related disciplines. Knowledge in areas such as formal methods and semantics, logics, deductive verification, proof assistants, model checking or similar would be desirable. Good written and spoken English language skills and a strong interest in teamwork and teaching are expected.
