In the Federal Volunteer Service, people work for the common good, particularly in the social, ecological and cultural fields as well as in the areas of sport, integration and civil defence and disaster control. The aim is to enable many people to work for the common good and to help fill the gap left by the abolition of civilian service.

The Federal Volunteer Service is open to men and women of all age groups who have completed compulsory full-time schooling. The duration is usually one year, with a minimum of six and a maximum of 24 months.

The Botanical Garden, as the centre for the Federal Voluntary Service, always endeavours to employ two volunteers at the same time.

They are deployed as support in the horticultural area and in animal care, but also fulfil a variety of other tasks (driving, path and earthworks, etc.).

BOTH POSITIONS ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE FROM 01/08 of each year.
One position is in gardening and one in animal care.
