Education

The Botanical Garden trains apprentices specialising in perennial horticulture and horticulture and landscaping.

The closing date for applications is usually in January/February. Please look out for job advertisements on the university website, on our homepage and/or in the local press (NWZ).

The Botanical Garden belongs to the voluntary association TAG (Top Ausbildung Gartenbau) in order to set itself special standards for improved training in the field of perennial horticulture.

T-A-G services

TAG training companies achieve something special, because these companies offer more than just a "normal" training place. Training in one of these companies can become a springboard for a "career in green". The offer, documented in a catalogue of criteria, includes, among other things

- Internships abroad - get to know horticulture in Europe
- Trade journals - always up to date
- Additional qualifications - more knowledge than others
- Specialist excursions - broaden your professional horizon
- Professional competition - teamworkers are in demand
- Action orientation - take responsibility even during training
- Transparency - know what the week will bring on Mondays
- Herbarium - on a first-name basis with the plant

The detailed catalogue of criteria is available here as a pdf.
