Digital Higher Education Management
Shaping digital higher education
The certificate programme pursues an integrative approach to the design of digital higher education and combines strategic, technological and didactic perspectives in the context of Open, Distance, and Digital Education (ODDE). Participants are enabled to analyse, manage and actively shape digital transformation processes in studies and teaching in a reflective, sustainable and future-oriented manner. The programme structure follows a three-level model:
Digital university
At the macro level, the focus is on the digitalisation of studying and teaching. The Digital University module deals with digitalisation strategies in academic institutions, governance and control issues and the opening of universities. It also deals with the anchoring of digital higher education in international policy frameworks and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Sustainable digital learning infrastructures
At the meso level, educational technologies are examined from a critical and sustainability-oriented perspective in the module Sustainable digital learning infrastructures at universities. Institutional infrastructures, their ecological, economic and social effects as well as questions of dependencies, governance, ethics and the long-term viability of digital systems are analysed.
Methods and models of digital education
At the micro level, the module Methods and Models of Digital Education focuses on learning design and the didactic design of digital teaching and learning settings. Participants develop competence- and target group-orientated didactic concepts in the context of ODDE and deal with the reflective use of current digital and AI-based tools to support teaching and learning processes.
