Digital Higher Education Management
Shaping digital higher education
The certificate programme pursues an integrative approach to the design of digital higher education and combines strategic, technological and didactic perspectives in the context of Open, Distance, and Digital Education (ODDE). Participants are enabled to analyse, manage and actively shape digital transformation processes in studies and teaching in a reflective, sustainable and future-oriented manner. The programme structure follows a three-level model:
Digital Higher Education
At the macro level, the focus is on the digitalisation of study and teaching. The ‘Digital Higher Education’ module covers digitalisation strategies in academic institutions, governance and management issues, and the opening up of higher education institutions. It also addresses the integration of digital higher education into international policy frameworks and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Digital media and the sustainable development of higher education
At the meso-level, educational technologies are examined within the ‘Digital Media and Sustainable Development’ module in higher education from a critical and sustainability-oriented perspective. The module analyses institutional infrastructures, their environmental, economic and social impacts, as well as issues relating to dependencies, governance, ethics and the long-term sustainability of digital systems.
Methods and models of digital education
At the micro-level, the ‘Methods and Models of Digital Education ’ module focuses on learning design and the didactic design of digital teaching and learning environments. Participants develop competence- and target-group-oriented didactic concepts within the context of ODDE and explore the reflective use of current digital and AI-based tools to support teaching and learning processes.
