Where can I find information on travelling with limited mobility?
On the website Information on mobility restrictions, you will find information on parking with a severe disability at the university and on using public transport. You will also find an overview of providers who offer transport services in Oldenburg and the surrounding area.
How can I move around the university without barriers if I have a mobility impairment?

Where can I find places to retreat or rest at the university?
There are two quiet rooms available to employees and students at the university.
- Room of silenceThe "Room of Silence" is located in building A04 (room number 00-004) and is used by all members of the university to find peace and quiet in a cosy atmosphere, to relax or to conduct silent prayers and meditations. The room can be used by several people at the same time and it is requested that the room regulations to observe the room rules. The Room of Silence is freely accessible at the following times:Mondays-Fridays: 06:00-20:00; Saturdays in term time: 08:00-18:00; Sundays and Saturdays in term time: closed
- The KabuffThe "Kabuff" is a retreat with cosy sofas and tables that invite you to have a coffee in peace, relax or do something for university. At the same time, a shelf on the wall offers the opportunity to exchange books. The Kabuff is located in the canteen wing behind the cafeteria. It can be accessed via the seating level, which overlooks the swimming pool.
I have special needs or require support when visiting the canteen. Where can I find information?

Can I bring my assistance dog or guide dog to the university? What do I need to bear in mind?
Assistance or guide dogs for the blind may be kept at or near the workplace during working hours. This also applies to assistance dogs and guide dogs for the blind in training if the training relates to a specific need of an employee or student. Prior application is required for this. Are there accessible workstations in the university library?
The University Library endeavours to ensure barrier-free working for everyone. For this reason, the BIS provides workstations and services for users with special needs. Further information can be found on the BIS website.
I have a hearing impairment. Which lecture theatres have assistive listening systems?
The lecture theatres in building A14 are equipped with the Sennheiser Mobile Connect hearing support system. Further information on the use of the system can be found on the notices outside the lecture theatres.
For seminar rooms/lecture halls that do not have the equipment, a mobile FM system can be borrowed from the Autonomous Department for Disabled and Chronically Ill Students (BeRef). Further information can be found on the BeRef website.
