In order to better reflect and support existing and emerging research structures, -consortia and -networks involving several researchers engaged in interdisciplinary research, these will be documented and presented in the form of ‘research clusters’. The cluster format replaces the previous format of research units. Existing research units are to be continued as research clusters. Initiatives for potential new research clusters (including those led by early-career researchers) are also expressly supported. The invitation to establish clusters with potential or to propose existing ones is open on an ongoing basis.
