University of Oldenburg involved with 7 projects and 2.5 million in BMBF-funded network

As part of the digital transformation of schools and teacher training, the BMBF is funding the competence network learning:digital promotes dialogue between science and practice. The four competence centres STEM, languages/society/business, music/art/sport and school development comprise a variety of transnational research and development projects, in which various Schools at the University of Oldenburg are also involved in research and development of further education, materials and concepts for school and teaching development. The project results are integrated into teacher training through a transfer centre and are to be further developed in practice.

Didactic double-decker for digital education in STEM fields (D4MINT)

Centre of Excellence MINT

The project "Didactic double-decker for digital education in STEM (D4MINT)" is part of the Centre of Excellence STEM and focuses on the development and evaluation of modules and innovative training formats for different subjects and school levels. Prof Dr Ira Diethelm and Prof Dr Maja Brückmann are involved in this project by developing training concepts and materials relating to Computing Science education in grades 3 to 6 and researching the conditions for the success of these training courses. Centre of Excellence MINT

The "ComᵉMINT Network" project network is concerned with the development and research of professionalisation concepts and aims to impart skills in the design of digital and digitally-supported teaching and learning processes. Among the 14 universities networked for this project, the University of Duisburg-Essen is coordinating the network for the duration of the project from April 2023 to September 2025. LFB-Labs-digital

Centre of Excellence MINT

The Centre of Excellence STEM also includes the "LFB-Labs-digital" project . In this project, eight universities are creating student labs as places for teacher training with a focus on digitalisation. During the project period from April 2023 to September 2025, Bielefeld University will coordinate the network. The University of Oldenburg is represented by Prof Dr Maja Brückmann.

Centre of Excellence Music/Art/Sport

The project "Digitality - Diversity - Producing: Practices of popular music in schools and further education (DiDiPro)" is part of the Centre of Excellence Music/Art/Sport and deals with the development of diversity-sensitive further education and training for music teachers, with a particular focus on digital music production. Project in the Centre of Excellence Music/Art/Sport:

The "DigiProSMK" project network is also part of the Centre of Excellence Music/Art/Sport. The centre focuses on the digitisation-related and digitally supported professionalisation of sports, music and art teachers. Ten universities are involved in the design of concepts and modules for the use of digital media in sports, music and art lessons as well as the professionalisation of teachers for teaching in a culture of digitality. The network is coordinated by Kiel University and is scheduled to run until 2026. The University of Oldenburg is involved in two sub-projects through the participation of Prof Dr Michaela Kaiser, which firstly deal with algorithmicity and platform logics and secondly with the teaching of VR art in art lessons.

Centre of Excellence for School Development

Within the Centre of Excellence for School Development, the "DigiSchuKuMPK" project and thus the professionalisation of teachers at all-day primary schools in relation to digitalisation will be implemented. This is to take place over the period from August 2023 to March 2026 through the development of further training programmes to promote multi-professionalism and the consideration of inclusive school culture development. The University of Osnabrück will coordinate the five participating universities and the University of Oldenburg will be represented by Prof. Dr Till-Sebastian Idel.

Centre of Excellence Languages/Society/Economy

Under the leadership of Prof Dr Dirk Loerwald, the Institute for Economics Education (IÖB) is involved in the WiDiX sub-project of the "WÖRLD " project ("Business Education and Economics Education: Teacher Training and Digital Teaching"). In the "WÖRLD" project, 14 universities are involved in digitisation-related teacher training and continuing education in Business Education and Economics Education as well as the development and evaluation of concepts for the design of digital and hybrid teaching and learning opportunities. The project network is assigned to the Centre of Excellence Languages/Society/Economics and will be coordinated by the University of Kassel for the duration of the project until 2025.
