The aim of the DiZ Research Academy is to initiate, support and accompany interdisciplinary, teacher training-related research and development projects.

A particular concern in this context is the promotion of young academics (MEd students, doctoral candidates) and participation in evaluation and quality assurance procedures. Practical research projects are indispensable for the further development of teaching and schools.

However, research projects at or in co-operation with schools operate in a field of tension between different interests, as well as formal regulations and responsibilities. A research project must therefore demonstrate a considerable scientific and educational interest and may only place a reasonable additional burden on the school concerned.
