Maths self-test
Maths self-test
Are you interested in studying computer science and would like to know whether you have the right maths skills for it? Then you've come to the right place! We asked the maths lecturers at our university what they want from first-year students and created a collection of tasks to help you assess your level.
The scope of the tasks may seem considerable at first glance, but don't let that discourage you! You don't have to be able to do everything perfectly. The test is designed to give you an overview of which topics you have mastered and which you should take a closer look at before or during your studies.
Some chapters contain brief explanations to help you get your knowledge up to speed - if you still have difficulties, you are welcome to attend the maths pre-course offered by the Computing Science student body. This is recommended for everyone, also to make initial contacts. The student body and tutors are always happy to support you!
You don't need a calculator or any other tools for this test, but have a pen and paper ready. At the end of each chapter you will find an evaluation of your results.
Important note: Your answers will not be saved! You should therefore neither reload nor close the page before you reach the end of a chapter.
And now: Have fun trying it out!
