Results of the participate@UOL student survey in winter semester 2022/23
During the 2022/23 winter semester, all students were invited to take part in a comprehensive student survey as part of the project. We were particularly interested in current study patterns, students’ experiences following the digital pandemic semesters, and the resulting preferences for a new on-campus university that combines the best of both worlds.

TAP and bigTAPs in project courses in winter semester 2022/23
During the 2022/23 winter semester, a number of courses were evaluated by students as part of the project, using qualitative interim evaluations. In courses with smaller groups, the‘TAP’(Teaching Analysis Poll) is used, whilst larger courses are evaluated using the‘bigTAP’format. Both formats serve as a qualitative complement to traditional course evaluations and, particularly when testing new teaching and learning settings or processes as intended by the project, provide structured feedback that encourages dialogue between students and lecturers. As experts in their own right, students have the opportunity to play an active role in shaping the teaching in this course by, as a first step, identifying aspects of the course that either support or hinder learning and, where appropriate, suggesting changes that can be incorporated into the course whilst the semester is still in progress. To this end, the students’ responses are analysed anonymously and discussed in a plenary session before the anonymised results are passed on to the lecturers in a feedback meeting, followed by the opportunity to discuss the results with the lecturer.
