What is the Honours Programme?
The programme was set up to specifically support committed and talented Master's students from all disciplines who have a particular interest in research and science. The aim of the programme is to give students an in-depth insight into scientific research processes during their studies.
Participating students benefit from an exclusive support programme, which includes access to selected events, specialist lectures and individual mentoring. This supports them early on in their academic careers and prepares them for a research-oriented future.
Why should I take part in the Honours Programme?

Who can apply?
The programme is aimed at committed and talented Master's students of all subjects and State Examination students from the 5th semester onwards with a particular interest in academic work. Application is possible in the first Master's semester.
What criteria are taken into account in the application process?
The following criteria in particular are taken into account in the selection of participants:
Above-average credits and academic excellence
Strong interest in research and science
Affinity for interdisciplinary work and thinking
(Social) commitment within and outside the degree programme
High motivation and willingness to actively participate in the programme and support its further development
Availability and time capacity to participate in the programme content
Special framework conditions for balancing studies and personal life
Consideration of diversity aspects, such as age, gender, origin or other individual life paths
How does the programme work?
The programme runs over two semesters and starts at the beginning of the summer semester at the beginning of April. The programme ends the following winter semester at the end of March. A total of six events are to be attended over the course of the two semesters. Some events are compulsory. The remaining events can be attended according to individual interests. The total time required for the programme is approx. 40 - 50 hours. A certificate is issued on completion of the programme.

Can I take part in the programme if I have studied my Bachelor's degree at another university?
Students who have completed their Bachelor's degree at another university can also take part in the programme.
How can I combine a stay abroad with the Honours Programme?
Students who are spending a Master's semester as part of a visiting semester or semester abroad at another university can, in consultation with the coordination team, complete other courses - e.g. courses offered by the ZSKB - and thus complete the programme within a maximum of 12 months. Alternatively, the programme can be extended by 1-2 semesters by arrangement.
