Background:
Since 2025: PhD-Student (ICBM, University of Oldenburg and GEOMAR-Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research
2021 - 2025: Master in Chemistry (Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel, GEOMAR-Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research)
2017 - 2021: Bachelor in Chemistry (Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel, GEOMAR-Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research)
Research Interests: I am interested in the production and degradation of sulphur-containing trace gases (OCS, CS2, DMS, etc.) in the ocean. I am also working on transport processes of trace gases within the ocean and transfers into and out of the atmosphere and the sediment of the sea floor. I am also involved in the further development of the analytical method (GC-MS) we use to measure trace gases.
Current Project: The project “NSFGEO-DFG-BSF: The contribution of coastal systems to the atmospheric carbonyl sulfide budget using tower-based fluxes, isotopic measurements and modelling” is about the rebudgeting of the OCS production in coastal oceans and the flux into the atmosphere. I am primarily involved in the investigation of the production processes of OCS in seawater and sediments.
