In this project, the social-cognitive development of premature babies is being researched.
This scientific project is being carried out in co-operation with the Psychological Methodology and Statistics working group, Prof. Dr Andrea Hildebrandt:
Our study aims to collect findings on the development of infants after premature birth. This knowledge will later be used to provide targeted early support for the cognitive (mental development) and socio-emotional skills (group integration skills) of premature babies, e.g. to prepare them for kindergarten or school.
As part of EARLY SoCoBrain, we are investigating how the development of the perception of faces and the understanding of the language of speaking faces is related to premature birth in premature babies aged 6 and 18 months (corrected age).
The project is divided into 4 different studies that take place over 2 years. The families and their children are constantly accompanied by our team.
