Music of our time

As a permanent teaching institution, a composers' colloquium entitled "Music of our time" is held at the Institute of Music under the direction of Violeta Dinescu and Jörg Siepermann. Composers of contemporary music from Germany and abroad (e.g. Mauricio Kagel, Krzysztof Penderecki, Helmut Oehring) and lesser-known composers will present their works, projects and pieces for discussion. In accompanying courses, these works are analysed and examined from a musicological perspective.

At the end of each semester, students are given the opportunity to present their own compositions in public as part of the composers' colloquium. They are supported by professional performers from the region.

Unless otherwise stated, the events take place every Friday at 6.00 pm in the Chamber Music Hall (A11).
