Audiology Initiative Lower Saxony projects make progress
Project 1- Diagnostics
The reproducibility of ASSR measurements before and after implantation of a residual auditory CI electrode was investigated in a study on the derivation of the ASSR under anaesthesia. Currently 68 data sets are available. Overall, significantly lower deviations between pure-tone hearing threshold and ASSR threshold and slightly lower standard deviations were found than with ASSR derivations in awake patients. The high reproducibility of the derived thresholds under anaesthesia is particularly striking.
With the newly developed "digital audiological medical record", it is now possible to display an overview of all measurements that have been carried out on a patient using the Oldenburg measurement programmes. It is also possible to predict speech intelligibility using the Standard Speech Intelligibility Index (SII) for quiet and stationary background noise, which can be displayed together with more detailed information on the results of the speech intelligibility tests.
