Welcome to the website of the Department of School Pedagogy and General Didactics at the Institute of Educational Sciences of School I - School of Educational and Social Sciences at the University of Oldenburg. You will find us in building A4 on the fourth floor.

The department is concerned with the fundamental practices and processes of school pedagogy: teaching and imparting, educating and supporting, counselling and assessing, developing and innovating. We research and teach in the field of designing, changing and reforming lessons, schools and pedagogical professionalism. We are interested in questions relating to the concrete implementation of teaching and learning in the classroom as well as the systemic change of schools as pedagogical organisations and their culture in a social context.

Our department is responsible for the coordination, organisation and supervision of the General School Placement (ASP).
