Description
For years, the University of Oldenburg has been taking part in STADTRADELN with a team. Most recently, it came third in Oldenburg during the 2025 campaign period. This year, too, the University will be represented by a team in the sporting competition from 7 to 27 September 2026.
STADTRADELN is an international cycling competition organised by Climate Alliance, the largest network of cities, towns and districts dedicated to climate protection. The aim is to cover as many everyday journeys as possible by bike in a climate-friendly way over a 21-day period.
Through fun and healthy exercise, STADTRADELN aims to inspire enthusiasm for cycling and to bring the issues of cycling and cycle infrastructure planning more firmly to the fore in local councils. Over three weeks, participants cycle as many kilometres as possible, whether for work or personal reasons. Awards are presented to the most cycling-active local authorities, as well as the most active teams and cyclists at local level.
