Numerical fluid simulations

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are becoming more and more impoartant in the analysis of fluid flows. Increasing computational power allows more advanced  methods for the calculation. Nevertheless the direct calculation (DNS) of flows is still limited to weak flows in a reasonable calculation time.
Models for the calculation of turbulent flows, like large eddy simulations (LES) and high order methods, are therefore a focus of our work. A field of applications are the analysis of the tubulent flows at and around wind turbines. Especially the investigation of dynamic stall is in the interest of our group.
