The core of the Master of Education degree programme GHR 300 is the 18-week school internship (practical block, prx560), which is flanked by accompanying courses in both the first subject (prx561) and the second subject (prx562). Students start in the winter semester with a preparatory course for the practical block, complete the practical block in the following summer semester together with an accompanying course and conclude the practical block in the (late) summer with a follow-up course. The programme structure is consecutive. The prx561 and prx562 modules are offered on Fridays from 8:15-9:45 am or 10:15-11:45 am.

As part of this Master's programme, there is an intensive interlinking of practical school experience in physical education with theoretical perspectives and scientifically proven knowledge. The courses in module prx561/prx562 are supported by lecturers in the practical phase (LiPs), who are themselves physical education teachers and/or work as subject seminar leaders at the Studienseminar.

Important: The modules prx560, prx561 and prx562 are excluded from an early study programme. The so-called project band module (prx566) must be completed at the same time as the practical phase. Information on registration and school assignment can be found on the homepage of the Didactic Centre.

In the project volume (prx566) of the subject Physical Education, the guiding principle of research-based learning is put into practice. This involves the practical application of the research methodology skills acquired in the Bachelor's degree programme to specific issues in a school context. Students can choose whether they want to study the project band in the subject of sport, in their second subject or in educational science. There are 15 seminar places available in the subject of sport.

The module is studied in parallel with the modules prx561/prx562 and prx560. It is not possible to study this module in advance.

Prospective primary school teachers also complete the spo770 module. Prospective secondary school teachers complete the modules spo780 and spo790. The module content and types of examination can be found in the module descriptions and the examination regulations.

Important note for planning your studies: The seminars for modules spo770, spo780 and spo790 are offered in the winter semester.

Students aiming to become primary school teachers or secondary school teachers can complete their Master's thesis in the subject of sport. The Master's thesis module (mam) consists of the Master's thesis (18 CP) and attendance of the associated colloquium (2 CP), which is taken alongside the Master's thesis.
