The Friends of Music are a group of "music lovers" within the UGO who are interested in the broad spectrum of musical activities in practice, education and research at the Institute of Music. Above all, they support the artistic work of future music educators and music mediators who contribute to society with their musical expertise and passion. The Friends of Music are regularly informed about current concerts or other musical activities at the Institute and can participate in the development of projects.

UGO - a guest at the Institute of Music

In July 2013, the UGO visited the Institute of Music and was impressed by the wide range of musical programmes on offer and the quality of the education. The approximately 500 students receive individual lessons throughout their studies, play in ensembles (orchestra, choir, band, etc.) and work on multimedia productions. In addition, there are renowned research projects in the fields of cultural history of music, music psychology, music pedagogy and music and media. In order to be informed about concerts and projects and to promote the work at the Institute, the idea was born to establish a "Friends of Music" group within the UGO.
