The journal DROSERA is published by the Verein zur Förderung Naturkundlicher Untersuchungen in Nordwestdeutschland e. V. and the Oldenburg University Library. It mainly contains articles on biosociological-ecological, floristic and faunistic topics. The journal is published annually with two issues or a double issue.

All members of the Verein zur Förderung Naturkundlicher Untersuchungen in Nordwestdeutschland e.V. receive the journal free of charge. The first issue was published in 1976 and since then DROSERA has been used by both amateurs and professionals interested in natural history to publish their work. The readership thus receives up-to-date information on all aspects of north-west German natural history.

DROSERA is published in German, but articles in English are also accepted. DROSERA is indexed in Biological Abstracts, Fortschritte der Botanik, Zoological Records and Entomology Abstracts.
