The Gender Days were first organised in summer 2005 at the University of Applied Sciences Oldenburg/Ostfriesland/Wilhelmshaven (FH OOW). Between 2006 and 2008, the Gender Days were held at the FH OOW and the University of Oldenburg.
The aim of the Gender Days was to publicise the importance of gender research in the various academic disciplines. As part of the Gender Days, university lecturers presented aspects of gender studies in their own research focus or invited experts from teaching, research and practice. The Gender Days encouraged lecturers and students to engage with gender-specific subject and cross-cutting issues and to try out new forms of teaching and learning.
