The Cluster of Excellence Hearing4all: Medicine, Basic Research and Engineering Solutions for Personalized Hearing Care at the University of Oldenburg (in collaboration with Medizinische Hochschule Hannover and Leibniz Universität Hannover; (see H4A 2.0, https://hearing4all.eu/EN/) and the Division of Psychological Methods and Statistics, Department of Psychology in Oldenburg seek to recruit

a PhD Student (m/f/d)
  (65%, TV-L E13, 3 years),
start date August 2019

Eligible candidates have a MSc degree in psychology, statistics, computer science, neuroscience, biomedical engineering or related disciplines. A solid background in statistical modeling is essential. Experience with Psychophysics or Ambulatory Assessment techniques are a plus. One of the aims of the H4A 2.0 is to develop groundbreaking data- and model-driven approaches towards self-controlled, mobile multilingual hearing tests and automatic initial hearing loss diagnostics. The candidate will work in an interdisciplinary context towards this aim. Very good English literacy skills and (basic) programming competencies are a requirement.

The University of Oldenburg offers cutting-edge infrastructure for neuroscience research, and an international, friendly environment with researchers and students with highly diverse backgrounds. The PhD programme "Auditory Sciences - Physics and Engineering, Physiology and Therapy of Hearing" offers comprehensive training for young researchers doing their doctoral research in the Joint Research Academy of the Cluster of Excellence "Hearing4all". It accompanies the scientific education in the lab with a special emphasis on the interdisciplinary context of modern hearing research.
