Managing clubs, associations and agencies professionally

The programme combines the three modules Sports Management, sports marketing and sponsorship as well as national and international sports and association law. It provides you with comprehensive expertise and know-how for responsible positions in clubs and associations, agencies and other companies. The programme is completed in three semesters and concludes with the internationally recognised Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS).

Sports management

The Sports Management module prepares you for a management position in sports organisations. You will learn about the special features of managing events, communication, sports facilities and personnel. Using the example of clubs and associations, agencies and other organisations, you will develop solutions for sport business challenges.

Sports marketing and sponsoring

The module Sports Marketing and Sponsoring teaches you how sports-related services and products can be marketed and used for advertising purposes. This is discussed from the perspective of companies and sports organisations. Using case studies, you will develop sponsorship and marketing concepts for organisations, events and products in sport.

Sports and association law

In the national and international sports and association law module, you will learn how sport, business and law are linked. You will be able to legally analyse case studies and assess the impact of legal provisions on clubs and associations, athletes, event organisers, sponsors, marketers and media partners. You will also be able to differentiate between club and association jurisdiction, arbitration courts and state jurisdiction.

Who is the programme aimed at?

The programme is aimed at professionals who work in clubs, associations and companies in the sports sector or would like to join them.

You can take the modules as certified further education or as part of the part-time Bachelor's degree programme in Business Administration. A single module leads to a Certificate of Advanced Studies, while a combination of three modules leads to a Diploma of Advanced Studies. The certificates are fully recognised for the Bachelor's degree programme. So you can start your studies without enrolment!
