Teaching-learning laboratory physiXS
The physiXS Teaching and Learning Laboratory is an out-of-school learning centre for school classes and also serves to train teachers of General Studies and physics. Experimentation is a key way of gaining an understanding of physical phenomena and their causes. In the physiXS teaching and learning laboratory, primary and lower secondary school pupils are guided by trainee teachers to ask insightful questions, form hypotheses and investigate them. Here, pupils can experience how physics works and how knowledge of physics can be used to solve problems – whether on the topic of energy, the issue of sustainable development in coastal areas, or in other fields of physics. The physiXS laboratory is part of the OLELA network (Oldenburg Teaching and Learning Laboratories), which comprises student laboratories specialising in the didactics of biology, chemistry, Computing Science and technology. physiXS and OLELA also conduct research into subject-specific teaching methods with a view to improving physics teaching and student laboratories.
