Computing Science education for understanding and shaping the digital worldFrom 13 to 15 September 2017, the 17th GI Conference on Computing Science and Schools (INFOS) of the expert committee "Computing Science Education in Schools" took place in the Department of Didactics of Computing Science in School II at the University of Oldenburg.
From 13 to 15 September 2017, the 17th GI Conference on Computing Science and Schools (INFOS) of the expert committee "Computing Science Education in Schools" took place in the Department of Didactics of Computing Science in School II at the University of Oldenburg.
After INFOS had already been held in Oldenburg 26 years ago, the motto of INFOS2017 was
"Computing Science Education for Understanding and Shaping the Digital World"
The conference focussed on Computing Science education as the foundation of education for the digital world from kindergarten to primary school, secondary levels I and II and vocational schools.
Rough planning of the thematic focus of the individual conference days (each from research and practice):
Pre-conference workshops Tuesday/Wednesday 12-13 September (each at noon):
- Computing Science Education in Primary Schools, Interdisciplinary Workshop of the German Telekom Foundation on Digital Learning in Primary Schools as part of INFOS 2017 (guests welcome, start 12 Sept. 1:00pm).
- Doctoral colloquium
Wednesday 13 September: Early Computing Science in nurseries and primary schools
noon: Opening by the President of Carl von Ossietzky University Prof. Dr Dr Hans Michael Piper, Saskia Esken, Member of the Bundestag and the Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs of Lower Saxony Frauke Heiligenstadt
Keynote speech: Prof. Dr Jens Gallenbacher
Thursday 14 September: structurally anchored Computing Science in secondary level I, II and BBS incl. state conference till (Day of Computer Science Teachers in Lower Saxony and Bremen)
